To Tap or Not

The POWER TAP assists in determining a baseline of fitness for the rider and can measure your progress along with helping to minimize over-training.

Over a decade ago I would ask the riders of my cycling camps, “What would better benefit you, as a rider, a new pair of hot wheels or recruiting a coach’s services”?

The answer that I was leading towards was “a coach”. Because the obvious reason is a coach can address the many dimensions of development and progress of the rider.

Well thank goodness for the technology advances in the cycling arena. Some major technical advances include the clipless pedal from LOOK and TIME, index shifting (STI or ERGO) and the introduction of carbon fiber for bike frames, bike parts and wheels.

A recent major advancement is one that addresses the training aspect for the rider.
In the old days, we riders only had a perceived effort scale and heart rate based training programs.

The introduction of cycling computers that measure power output produced by the rider are currently the best and most efficient ways to analyze the performance and progress of the rider’s fitness.

The POWER TAP will assist in determining a baseline of fitness for the rider and can measure the training progress along with minimizing over training.
